40  relevant articles (0 outcomes, 2 trials/studies) found for this Bio-Agent

Description: A colorless compound formed in the intestines by the reduction of bilirubin. Some is excreted in the feces where it is oxidized to urobilin. Some is reabsorbed and re-excreted in the bile as bilirubin. At times, it is re-excreted in the urine, where it may be later oxidized to urobilin.

Also Known As:
21H-Biline-8,12-dipropanoic acid, 2,17-diethyl-1,4,5,10,15,16,19,22,23,24-decahydro-3,7,13,18-tetramethyl-1,19-dioxo-

11/01/1979 - "One or more symptoms of hemolysis, such as hemoglobinemia, indirect type hyperbilirubinemia, increased red cell osmotic fragility, and increased fecal urobilinogen excretion, were demonstrated in 84 DAT-positive dogs"
05/01/1986 - "The absence of raised fecal urobilinogen excretion and frank hyperbilirubinemia and bilirubinuria suggests that excess hemolysis is not the primary cause of the anemia"
10/01/1951 - "Classification of the varieties of hemolytic anemia is based upon whether hemolysis is due to inherent defects within the erythrocyte or to extracellular factors.CONFIRMATION OF DIAGNOSIS IN CASES IN WHICH THE DISEASE IS CLINICALLY SUSPECTED IS MADE UPON THE BASIS OF THE FOLLOWING LABORATORY DATA: Hyperbilirubinemia giving an indirect van den Bergh reaction, observation of typical factors in a smear of the blood, a reactive bone marrow, increased urobilinogen in stools and urine, and absence of bilirubinuria"
01/01/1977 - "As hyperbilirubinemia is one of the factors influencing calculi formation, we made systematic examination of the biliary and urinary pathways, because throughout these the excretory activity of bilirubin and its compound urobilinogen is performed"
07/01/1989 - "Benzene causes leukocytopenia, thrombocytopenia, pancytopenia, etc. The clinical and hematologic picture of aplastic anemia resulting from benzene exposure is not different from classical aplastic anemia; in some cases, mild bilirubinemia, changes in osmotic fragility, increase in lactic dehydrogenase and fecal urobilinogen, and occasionally some neurological abnormalities are found"
