Description: Carbon monoxide (CO). A poisonous colorless, odorless, tasteless gas. It combines with hemoglobin to form carboxyhemoglobin, which has no oxygen carrying capacity. The resultant oxygen deprivation causes headache, dizziness, decreased pulse and respiratory rates, unconsciousness, and death. (From Merck Index, 11th ed)

04/25/2001 - "Tumor growth in the nude mice was dramatically reduced when normal ovarian surface stromal cells were co-injected with SKOV3 or OCC1 cells"
08/01/1995 - "Importantly, immunization of mice with the transfected cells and subsequent contralateral challenge with parental tumor cells showed that IL-7/B7 co-expressing cells induced the most strongly protective immunity, which is superior to that induced by single-gene transfectants and to the adjuvant Corynebacterium parvum"
12/01/1992 - "Co-injection of the two tumor cell classes resulted in similar numbers of homogeneous microfoci in lungs of LZEJ or APSI cells within minutes after injection that persisted for several hours before clearance of most of them"
05/15/1987 - "These results suggest that presentation of a hapten by highly immunogenic tumor cells can lead to enhanced protective immunity to poorly immunogenic noncross-reactive tumors that co-express the same hapten, and rejection of these haptenated poorly immunogenic tumors leads to enhanced protection against a subsequent challenge of the same, but not noncross-reactive progressor tumors."
03/01/1995 - "Considering that activated B cells express several kinds of costimulatory molecules, these findings thus indicate an efficacy of costimulation that is derived from activated B cells for the in vitro induction of tumor-specific CTL, in co-operation with anti-CD3 mAb. The culture system presented here may thus be therapeutically useful, providing potent effectors for adoptive immunotherapy against various types of cancer."
