Tune Deafness
A lifelong deficiency in MUSIC perception that cannot be explained by HEARING LOSS; CHRONIC BRAIN DAMAGE; INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY, or lack of exposure. The disorder affects predominantly the melodic pitch dimension. There appears to be a hereditary, autosomal dominant component to tune deafness and it is estimated to occur in up to 4% of certain populations. OMIM: 191200
