Abstract
Severe forms of acute pancreatitis were treated in 53 patients (25 with a destructive form, 28 with an edematous form) with using permanent infusions of a novocaine cocktail into the retroperitoneal space. General lethality was reduced to 5.7%. In the group of patients with a destructive form of acute pancreatitis lethality was 12%. Nobody died in the group of patients with the edematous form.
