Abstract |
12 patients with tuberculous pericarditis were studied by M-Mode echocardiography, before and after antituberculous chemotherapy. Baseline echocardiograms showed moderate effusion in 3, and large effusion in 9 (75%). Thickened pericardium was noted in 2. After medical treatment echoradiography showed small effusion in only 2, the rest had no effusion. 6 patients had thickened pericardium, and 3 had constrictive features.
