[An influence of mexidol on the restoration of neurological deficit, increase of social adaptation and removal of neglect and push syndromes in stroke patients].

Abstract
To evaluate efficacy of mexidol in the rehabilitative treatment of patients with stroke, treatment results of 440 patients were analyzed. The functional rehabilitation and adaptation level were followed up using Barthel, Lindmark, Scandinavian and Merton and Sutton scales. The inclusion of mexidol in the scheme of complex rehabilitative study significantly improves the results of rehabilitation facilitating the increase in the restoration of neurological functions and social adaptation level. The effect of neglect and push syndromes on the results of rehabilitation in stroke patients and efficacy of mexidol in their removal were studied as well. We examined 630 stroke patients. Mexidol efficacy was evaluated by the absence of these syndromes and by the results of balance testing. Neglect and push syndromes significantly reduce the effectiveness of rehabilitation. At the same time, the better regression of syndrome presentations was seen in patients treated with mexidol.
