Abstract | BACKGROUND: METHODS: we conducted a clinical, comparative, randomized, double-blind study. We included 56 patients who were divided into four groups of 14 patients for each surgery (circumcision, tonsillectomy, inguinal hernioraphy, orchiopexy). Half of the patients received acetaminophen + B vitamins, and the remaining patients received acetaminophen alone. Variables were drugs, visual analogue scale and time of discharge. χ(2), Student t-test and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used for statistical analysis. RESULTS: CONCLUSIONS: the adjuvant effect of B vitamins was demonstrated with a better pain score in the immediate postoperative period and at the time of discharge.
