Abstract | OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect on health education of Hepatitis B control and prevention in reproductive age women in rural areas to put forward valuable recommendations for the strategies of Hepatitis B control. METHODS: A project was carried out in two counties in Shaanxi Province. The measures were conducted by strengthening health education, training of medical worker, reinforcing the management of pregnant women, preventing mother-to-infant transmission of Hepatitis B virus (HBV). RESULTS: The children's timely birth-dose coverage of Hepatitis B vaccine ( HepB) increased from 76.34% to 93.79%; the timely birth-dose coverage and full-course coverage increased to 93.28% and 92.91% respectively; reproductive age women knowledge on Hepatitis B prevention significant increased and the mother-to-infant transmission interrupted rate was 98.11%. CONCLUSION: It have remarkably improved the coverage of HepB and knowledge on Hepatitis B prevention, interrupted mother-to-infant transmission effectively as well as. Health education of Hepatitis B control and prevention in reproductive age women in rural area has obtained excellent results.
