Recurrent pigmented villonodular synovitis of the hip joint. Case report and review of the literature.

Abstract
A case report of recurrent pigmented villonodular synovitis of the hip joint, which was treated with en bloc resection of the acetabulum and proximal femur, followed by allograft acetabular reconstruction and total hip arthroplasty, is presented. The allograft united and, at 2 years, revealed an excellent clinical result. Treatment rationale and literature are reviewed.
