Abstract | PURPOSE: To evaluate the results of cataract surgery in eyes after silicone oil removal and comparison of surgical technics. MATERIAL AND METHODS: RESULTS: Visual acuity of 6/60 or better was achieved in 65% of eyes. Statistically significant improvement in visual acuity was observed after cataract surgery, compared to the results after vitrectomy in the study group and in the control group. The most frequent complication was posterior capsule opacification, which occurred in 47 eyes (54.6%). CONCLUSIONS:
