A group of disorders having a benign course but exhibiting clinical and histological features suggestive of malignant lymphoma. Pseudolymphoma is characterized by a benign infiltration of lymphoid cells or histiocytes which microscopically resembles a malignant lymphoma. (From Dorland, 28th ed & Stedman, 26th ed)

05/01/2013 - "A group of these lesions correspond to atypical lymphoid hyperplasias, including follicular hyperplasias, atypical marginal zone hyperplasias, and florid reactive lymphoid hyperplasias of the lower female genital tract in which immunoglobulin light chain restriction with or without clonal IGH rearrangements may be found in some cases. "
06/01/2006 - "MALT-type lymphoma demonstrated characteristic negative staining for CD3, CD5 and CD43, positive staining for CD20, and monotypic staining for either kappa or lambda light chain immunoglobulin markers, whereas reactive lymphoid hyperplasia all expressed B and T cell markers. "
08/01/2001 - "The histologic distinction of myoepithelial sialadenitis from low-grade B-cell mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma can be a difficult diagnostic challenge and many of these lesions continue to be ambiguously diagnosed as "pseudolymphoma." Immunophenotypic or flow cytometric analysis may be useful in showing an aberrant phenotype or immunoglobulin light-chain restriction, which helps to support a diagnosis of malignant lymphoma in most cases. "
04/01/2000 - "All cases of reactive lymphoid hyperplasia were DNA diploid and showed a polyclonal expression of immunoglobulin light chains. "
04/01/1986 - "Although follow-up was short or inconclusive in some patients with lymphoma and pseudolymphoma, it was concluded that evaluation of T and B cell antigens and immunoglobulin light chains in frozen tissue is helpful in classifying lymphocytic neoplasms, especially in cases without definite cytologic evidence of malignancy.
