Acute Monocytic Leukemia (Acute Monoblastic Leukemia)

An acute myeloid leukemia in which 80% or more of the leukemic cells are of monocytic lineage including monoblasts, promonocytes, and MONOCYTES.

01/01/2018 - "Among the isolated compounds, 2 and 5 showed significant inhibitory activities toward the LPS-induced production of IL-6 in the human acute monocytic leukemia cell line THP-1, and 7 displayed cytotoxicity against MCF-7, PC9, A549, and breast cancer stem cells (MCF-7-Oct4-GFP) with IC50 values of 5.2, 5.6, 7.8, and 10 μM, respectively."
01/01/2021 - "Among many assayed leukemic cell lines, differentiated THP-1 cells (a human acute monocytic leukemia cell line) were found to have the highest levels of proHpt, per Western blot using 10-7G mAb. Interestingly, production of proHpt in vitro was dramatically increased under either hypoxic conditions or after IL-6 treatment. These results suggest that immune cells, including macrophages, in the pancreatic tissue microenvironment produce fucosylated haptoglobin and proHpt. "
11/01/2013 - "The anti-inflammatory potential of eight indigenous probiotic Lactobacillus isolates was evaluated in vitro in terms of modulating the expression of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in human acute monocytic leukemia (THP-1) cells under inflammatory conditions. "
03/08/2013 - "Adventitial monocyte binding to AngII-infused aorta in vitro was dependent on CD14, and incubation of human acute monocytic leukemia cell line-1 (THP-1) monocytes with IL-6 or conditioned medium from perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) upregulated CD14 expression. "
01/01/1993 - "Because IL-6 has been involved in the pathogenesis of acute monoblastic leukemia, we investigated the in vitro anti-proliferative effect and the in vivo anti-tumoral effect of an anti-IL-6 murine monoclonal antibody (mAb) in a patient with M5B type acute leukemia. "
