07/01/1986 - "Weight gain and prolactin levels in patients on long-term antipsychotic medication: a double-blind comparative trial of haloperidol decanoate and fluphenazine decanoate."
05/01/2012 - "Switching from haloperidol decanoate or fluphenazine decanoate to risperidone microspheres resulted in more frequent treatment discontinuation as well as significant weight gain and increases in prolactin. "
07/01/1986 - "A one year double-blind trial of haloperidol decanoate and fluphenazine decanoate was conducted in nineteen out-patients who had previously received at least one year's treatment with fluphenazine decanoate and were already overweight, as judged by a Body Mass Index of 25+. Although the difference was not statistically significant, patients treated with haloperidol decanoate showed a trend to less weight gain than patients who continued on fluphenazine decanoate, even though the haloperidol to fluphenazine dose ratio was 4:1. No statistically significant changes in mental state were observed and the incidence of extrapyramidal side-effects in the two treatment groups was similar."
05/21/2014 - "In adults with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, use of paliperidone palmitate vs haloperidol decanoate did not result in a statistically significant difference in efficacy failure, but was associated with more weight gain and greater increases in serum prolactin, whereas haloperidol decanoate was associated with more akathisia. "
01/01/2016 - "Fluphenazine decanoate, haloperidol, haloperidol decanoate and trifluoperazine produced more extrapyramidal adverse effects than olanzapine or quetiapine; and olanzapine was associated with more weight gain than other agents. "
