Abstract |
The study was first undertaken to examine the levels of trace elements in the resected portions of the lungs from 33 patients and 8 healthy individuals who had died from injuries, by using the quantitative spectral analysis. The trace element spectrum in the lung tissue was found both in the patients and healthy persons. Ratios of the concentrations of some vital trace elements were determined in healthy individuals and patients with various types of tuberculosis. There was a direct relationship between the levels of trace elements and the severity of a pathological process. A change in their concentrations is likely to be associated with weather factors, biogeochemical features of the region.
