Abstract
A material of 26 patients treated for hallux rigidus using the Swanson silastic great toe implant is presented. Subjectively the results were evaluated as 88% excellent or good whereas objective examination gave 84% good or excellent results (80% taking into account two patients who had the prosthesis removed).
