[Effect of stroma-free hemoglobin solutions in hemorrhagic shock--a review of animal experimental results].

Abstract
On a potential blood substitute--the stroma-free hemoglobin solution--is pointed out by animal experimental results of the bibliography. The increase of the oxygen capacity and the improvement of the microcirculation enable to guarantee the oxygen supply of hypoxic tissues by the hemoglobin solution. The arterial mean pressure, the cardiac output, and the heart rate in hemorrhagic shock could become normalized by infusion of hemoglobin solution. The short half-life and the elevated oxygen affinity were given as disadvantageous.
