[Prevention of headache following lumbar puncture. A controlled double blind trial of the effectiveness of intravenous tiapride].

Abstract
To evaluate the effectiveness of intravenous tiapride in preventing cephalalgia following rachiocentesis, two groups of patients were studied in a double blind trial. In group I (tiapride), two 100 mg vials of tiapride given in a slow intravenous injection were effective in 86.7% of patients. In group II (placebo), only 46.6% of patients did not experience cephalalgia. These results were shown to be statistically significant by the Hypothesis Zo test (Zo = 2,33 for p less than 1%).
