Experimental hypersensitivity pneumonitis: serum immunoglobulins G1, G2, M, A and E in Micropolysopra faeni sensitized and desensitized calves.

AbstractWeekly evaluation of serum antibody activity in IgA, IgM, IgG1 and IgG2 as well as serum IgE levels indicates highly significant reduction in IgE and elevation of IgA in calves experimentally desensitized with Micropolyspora faeni soluble antigen. Serum IgG2, IgG1 and IgM levels were also elevated. Results are discussed in the light of the possible significance of reagin-mediated reactions in initiation of hypersensitivity pneumonitis.
