Nasally administered buserelin inducing complete remission of lung metastases in male breast cancer.

AbstractA 60-year-old man with bilateral lung metastases from breast cancer was treated with the gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogue, buserelin, given as an intranasal spray. Androgen deprivation and complete remission of lung metastases were achieved with minimal side effects. Androgen deprivation by means of nasally administered buserelin offers an easy and efficient alternate approach in the treatment of metastatic male breast cancer.
