| Abstract | A review of the literature indicates that cefoxitin is an effective single-agent therapy for community-acquired intra-abdominal infections, pelvic infections, and surgical prophylaxis. Hospital-acquired intra-abdominal infections may require the addition of an aminoglycoside. |
