Abstract |
Thirty-seven patients, aged from 7 to 12 years, with depressive and obsessive-compulsive disorders have been examined. Patients were treated with torin ( sertraline) in dosage 25-50 mg daily during 4 weeks. Drug efficacy was evaluated using a children neurotic questionnaire and the Spilberger-Khanin anxiety scale. In the end of therapy, the complete reduction of obsessive and depressive symptoms was reached in 37,5% of patients, the improvement - in 51,9%. No side-effects have been observed. The authors recommend torin for treatment of depression in children.
