| Abstract | Although this article primarily reflects Maine's experience, it is meant to inspire you to consider the PMP applications in your own geographic region, as the article clearly demonstrates the importance of state prescription monitoring programs and their impact on patients and communities. Most important, it is imperative that health care facilities recognize and support collaboration with state services that, in due course, may assist them in avoiding exposure to litigation by those who may be injured through diversion and/or misuse of prescription medications. |
