[Microbial considerations in the therapy of endodontic infections]

AbstractRoot canal therapy is generally recognized as an effective method for endodontic infections. It is attracting more and more attention nowadays and used by a lot of dentists, but some problems happened with the popularization of this technique, especially for the molar teeth with complex root canal morphogenesis, such as root canal perforation, apical transportation by over-instrumentation; inter-appointment flare-up and vertical root fracture as well as re-treated root canals. How to explain and prevent these problems remain to be answered. We try to investigate the survival of bacteria in infected root canals and evaluate the treatments of endodontic infections from microbiological view.
