Abstract | PURPOSE: METHODS: In this prospective study, LASEK was performed in 75 eyes of 39 patients and LASIK was performed in 79 eyes of 41 patients for high myopia with a prospective clinical follow-up period. RESULTS: In LASEK group, best corrected visual acuity was achieved from 1 week to 1 month postoperatively, uncorrected visual acuity was achieved to preoperative corrected visual acuity in 95.83% after 6 months since surgery, main complications include high intraocular pressure and mild corneal Haze formation; In LASIK group, uncorrected visual acuity was achieved to preoperative corrected visual acuity in 94.35% after 6 months since surgery, no corneal HAZE was examined, main complications include refractive regression and corneal epithelium ingrowth combined with flap melting.
