Biliary complications in recipients of living-donor liver transplantation.

AbstractThe key points of the management of biliary complications in recipients of living-donor liver transplantation are described. The characteristics of these complications are somewhat different from those in deceased-donor liver transplantation, mainly due to the technical difficulties. Appropriate prevention, diagnosis, and treatment are essential for successful transplants, to avoid the development of secondary biliary cirrhosis when complication occurs.
