Abstract | BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: METHOD: Animals were randomly divided into six groups (n = 6 in each group): a sham-operated group, an operated group without infusion, and four operated groups with infusions of each of the four Ringer's solutions. Each Ringer's solution was intravenously administered at 40 mL kg(-1) h(-1) for 1.5 h. Arterial blood gases, plasma magnesium concentrations and cardiovascular parameters were analysed.
