Treatment of chronic viral hepatitis anno 1990.

Abstract
The therapeutic efficacy of alpha-interferon therapy in chronic hepatitis is discussed in light of various international studies. Although beneficial to some extent, treatment is of limited value and is accompanied by more-or-less serious side effects. Development of complementary drugs and new therapeutic methods must therefore be continued.
