[Nonsurgical treatment of chronic subdural hematoma with steroids: two case reports].

AbstractINTRODUCTION:
Hemorrhages beneath the dura define a subdural hematoma.
EXEGESIS:
The course of chronic subdural hematoma may be asymptomatic for many months before diagnosis. Recovery is observed in 80% of patients after surgery. We report two cases of chronic subdural hematoma successfully treated with steroids.
CONCLUSION:
Steroids can be an alternative treatment of subdural hematoma, specially in elderly or alcoholic patients.
