Protein Kinase C-alpha

A cytoplasmic serine threonine kinase involved in regulating CELL DIFFERENTIATION and CELLULAR PROLIFERATION. Overexpression of this enzyme has been shown to promote PHOSPHORYLATION of BCL-2 PROTO-ONCOGENE PROTEINS and chemoresistance in human acute leukemia cells.
Also Known As:
Protein Kinase C alpha; Protein Kinase C(alpha); PKC alpha Serine Threonine Kinase; Serine-Threonine Kinase, PKC-alpha; PKC-alpha Serine-Threonine Kinase
