715  relevant articles (62 outcomes, 149 trials/studies) found for this Drug

Description: A sulfinylindene derivative prodrug whose sulfinyl moiety is converted in vivo to an active NSAID analgesic. Specifically, the prodrug is converted by liver enzymes to a sulfide which is excreted in the bile and then reabsorbed from the intestine. This helps to maintain constant blood levels with reduced gastrointestinal side effects.

02/20/1996 - "A second study reported that intervention with the NSAID sulindac for 9 months in young patients with FAP resulted in a significant reduction in both polyp number and size in the rectosigmoid colon. "
08/01/2007 - "Participants in the Phase IIb study served as a vanguard for a randomized, placebo-controlled prospective Phase III trial of the combination of DFMO and sulindac with the primary study endpoint the prevention of colon polyps. "
09/01/1995 - "Despite attempts to reduce polyp mass by regular endoscopic polypectomy, daily transfusions of blood products, and a trial of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent sulindac, his condition gradually deteriorated and he died of septicaemia."
05/06/1993 - "Administration of the nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug sulindac has been followed by regression of polyps in patients with this disorder, but no controlled trial of this drug in patients who have not had surgery has been reported. "
10/01/2005 - "Six patients exhibited polymorphisms in both E158K and E308G loci and were designated as genotype combination 1. The remaining patients were designated as genotype combination 2. Over the course of treatment, patients with genotype combination 1 had a greater reduction in both the size and number of polyps than those with genotype combination 2. These results suggest that combined polymorphic changes in the E158K and E308G alleles may protect against polyposis in patients with FAP treated with sulindac."
