09/01/2000 - "Parameters of liver function, serum GOT and GPT levels, which were normal at the baseline, became abnormal in 30.0% and 35.3%, respectively, of patients in Group II. These figures were significantly higher than the corresponding figures of 6.3% and 12.5%, respectively, in Group I. When the degree of change in each of these parameters was analyzed, both GOT and GPT levels showed a significantly greater increase in Group II than in Group I. CONCLUSION: These results indicate that attention must be paid to changes in liver function during the administration of flutamide in patients with prostate cancer even if their baseline liver function is normal"
06/01/1986 - "Since uninterrupted administration of the antiandrogen is of the outmost importance for the successful therapy of prostatic cancer, the availability of a compound such as flutamide that has no side effect other than those due to hypoandrogenicity should greatly facilitate compliance by the patients and the success of the treatment."
11/01/2003 - "CONCLUSIONS: The administration of low-dose flutamide (125 mg) was clinically effective in treating PSA recurrence after definitive treatments for prostate cancer, and was well tolerated"
01/01/1990 - "Our preliminary experience shows that flutamide is effective in patients with stage C or D prostate cancer"
01/01/1989 - "The foregoing findings demonstrate that flutamide monotherapy is an effective treatment for prostatic cancer and can be chosen for younger patients who wish to conserve their sexual potency."
