03/01/2011 - "Combined treatment of obidoxime and physostigmine shortened the duration of seizures, if present, from up to 80 min to ~10-15 min. In practice, treatment will be employed when toxic signs appear, with the presence of high levels of AChE inhibition in both blood and brain. "
08/01/1970 - "At this time no signs of central effects such as convulsions or tremor were seen.4. Atropine, given 30 min before paraoxon, markedly reduced the rise in total brain acetylcholine seen when the anticholinesterase is given alone.5. In rats pretreated with atropine and obidoxime excessive doses of paraoxon which are lethal in the absence of the antidotes produced a rise in total brain acetylcholine which was directly proportional to the dose of paraoxon administered."
01/13/1995 - "beta-Eudesmol (300 mg/kg, i.p.) elevated the LD50 of diisopropylfluorophosphate (s.c.) in control mice from 4.2 to 6.4 mg/kg and in mice pretreated with atropine from 7.8 to 10.6 mg/kg. In mice pretreated with atropine and obidoxime, beta-eudesmol showed a greater synergistic effect, increasing the LD50 from 281 to more than 800 mg/kg. beta-Eudesmol also markedly alleviated diisopropylfluorophosphate-induced muscle fasciculation, tremor and convulsion and prolonged the time to death. "
09/01/2001 - "At present the most common combination of antidotes against soman, consisting of obidoxime and atropine, as well as a prospective combination containing oxime HI-6 and atropine should be supplemented with diazepam not only to prevent centrally induced seizures and tonic-clonic convulsions but also to increase the ability of such antidotal therapy to eliminate acute lethal toxicity of soman."
