Immediate Hypersensitivity

Hypersensitivity reactions which occur within minutes of exposure to challenging antigen due to the release of histamine which follows the antigen-antibody reaction and causes smooth muscle contraction and increased vascular permeability.

07/01/1989 - "The development of this model has allowed us to gain a clearer insight into the mechanisms involved during conjunctival immediate hypersensitivity in the rat; and the simplicity of this model makes it attractive to use in the evaluation of new drug therapies prior to their introduction into human clinical trials."
11/01/1985 - "The prevention and treatment of immediate hypersensitivity reactions from cancer chemotherapy."
01/01/2022 - "From January to July 2021, at the Allergy Department at the Provincial University Consortium Hospital a pilot study was performed in which those patients suspected of having suffered a type I hypersensitivity reaction (grade 1 or 2) following Brown's anaphylaxis severity grading to a platin agent at the Provincial University Consortium oncology day unit, and once the reaction was properly treated and completely resolved, were subjected to a new procedure named as Same-Day Desensitization, which consists in the reintroduction and administration of full chemotherapy dose by allergists on the same day of the reaction by following the 1 bag/10 step protocol, looking forwards to systematize same-day reexposure using Same-Day Desensitization, doing it in the safest way possible. "
06/21/1995 - "Ten of 16 chemoimmunotherapy patients exhibited type I hypersensitivity reactions during chemotherapy administration, ranging from pruritus, erythema, and edema to hypotension with hemodynamic instability that required pressor therapy. "
08/01/2006 - "Candidate patients include those who present mild to severe type I hypersensitivity, mast cell/IgE dependent, reactions during the chemotherapy infusion or shortly after. "
