10/01/2000 - "The complete (low and high dose) dobutamine protocol can elicit several types of contractile responses (sustained improvement in contraction or monophasic response, biphasic response, new wall motion abnormality) which should be interpreted in view of other clinical data including a previous infarction. "
12/01/1991 - "In response to low-dose dobutamine, there was a marked improvement in contractility in the infarct-related area segments and this was reflected by a decrease in echocardiographic score index from 1.5 +/- 0.15 to 1.09 +/- 0.08 (p = 0.0001). "
03/01/1997 - "The aim of study was to test the hypothesis that infarct zone which shows improvement in contractility after dobutamine infusion has viable myocardial tissue and would have good flow (TIMI II or III) in IRA. "
12/01/1999 - "44 patients (36 M 8 F, mean age 54 +/- 7 year) who had a MI 15 +/- +/- 8 weeks earlier, were qualified to angioplasty of IRA when DSE showed the change in wall motion at the infarct zone--improved during low dose infusion (5-10 micrograms/kg/min) and/or worsened during a high dose dobutamine (up to 40 micrograms/kg/min). "
11/01/1998 - "Our results indicate that: 1) recovery of regional wall motion after AMI is slow and progressive, with substantial improvement ensuing within the first days after infarction; 2) considering results on a segmental basis, low-dose dobutamine echocardiography performed within 48 hours of AMI shows a high specificity but a low sensitivity for late recovery of regional function, although it gave information similar to what was obtained performing the test at predischarge; 3) the efficiency of test can be improved by considering the amount of reversible segmental dysfunction inside the infarct area in the single patients."
