Diabetic Neuropathies (Diabetic Neuropathy)

1751  relevant articles (198 outcomes, 303 trials/studies) found for this Disease

Description: Peripheral, autonomic, and cranial nerve disorders that are associated with DIABETES MELLITUS. These conditions usually result from diabetic microvascular injury involving small blood vessels that supply nerves (VASA NERVORUM). Relatively common conditions which may be associated with diabetic neuropathy include third nerve palsy (see OCULOMOTOR NERVE DISEASES); MONONEUROPATHY; mononeuropathy multiplex; diabetic amyotrophy; a painful POLYNEUROPATHY; autonomic neuropathy; and thoracoabdominal neuropathy. (From Adams et al., Principles of Neurology, 6th ed, p1325)

07/15/1990 - "Both drugs were effective for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy characterized by decreased motor nerve conduction velocity, that is, slowing of tail and sciatic-tibial motor nerve conduction velocities in streptozocin-induced diabetic rats was prevented during 3 weeks by intubating Di-Cl-PSH or beta-NSH at 50 mg/kg/day"
08/01/1995 - "RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS--We used the model of streptozotocin-induced diabetic neuropathy (SDN) and evaluated the efficacy of LA supplementation in improving nerve blood flow (NBF), electrophysiology, and indexes of oxidative stress in peripheral nerves affected by SDN, at 1 month after onset of diabetes and in age-matched control rats"
