Atrial Septal Defect Sinus Venosus
An atrial-septal defect located in the superior and posterior portion of the ATRIAL SEPTUM within the sinus venosus, a large quadrangular cavity which precedes the atrium on the venous side of the heart. Because of its location, it can be more difficult to visualize by routine ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY. It is associated with abnormal drainage of one or more right sided pulmonary veins.
