VATER association

An acronym for the nonrandom association of congenital abnormalities: vertebral defects (V), anal atresia (A), TRACHEOESOPHAGEAL FISTULA with ESOPHAGEAL ATRESIA (TE), and radial or renal dysplasia. Most cases are sporadic but evidence suggests that there may be a hereditary component in some cases. OMIM: 192350
