The regions of two genes have been sequenced: D1 dopamine receptor gene (subfamily of the G-protein coupled receptor L-DOPA genes) and the intron 12 of the gene for phenylalanine hydroxylase (PAH) responsible for phenylketonuria or hyperphenylalaninemia.
